No one, unless George R. R. Martin or Game of Thrones’ stars, knows the show better than those fans who have spent so much time trying to understand the dynamics of the series, and how it actually works. Searching on the social networks, many and many theories connected with the last seasons about the next ones appear. Everyone loves to give his or her own opinion about the future of our favourite characters.
We already know that Game of Thrones can involve time travels, resurrections, a prophecies that can become true. So we also know that everything is possible in this fantastic world, as these theories might be, or might not. In fact, they are only theories.
1 JON SNOW IS HALF TARGARYEN
The theory of the “R+L=J” has been around since more than few seasons. The theory sustains that Jon Snow is not Ned Stark’s son with the unknown woman. In fact, following the “R+L” theory, Jon should be Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen’s son, and Daenery’s nephew. The theory has been sustained in the last episode of the sixth season, during one of Bran’s visions, which is a Ned’s flashback. In the vision, Bran sees his father Ned joining Lyanna in the Tower of Joy, and there is a baby with with her. In the scene nobody says who the baby or his father are, but we everybody supposed that he was Jon Snow, Rhaegar’s son, heir to the Iron Throne, and threat to Robert Baratheon’s reign. It becomes logical, for Game of Thrones’s fans, that Ned did not killed his nephew, because, of course, he would never do that. So he presented him as his son to everybody, included his wife.
If this theory was true, his blood could make him one of the dragons and make him sit on the Iron Throne, which is something that almost everybody hope.
2 JON SNOW WARGED INTO GHOST
In the episode Home, Melisandre, with her magical powers, resurrected Jon, who had been stabbed by his companions. Many people accepted it and did not found anything strange about it, while other fans have assumed it happened differently. These are presenting the idea that Jon made something similar to Bran, warging into the body of his direwolf Ghost while he was being stabbed. This would explain the fact that Ghost woke up few seconds before Jon’s resurrection. So far, Jon sustains to not remembering what happened after he was stabbed, but he always seems thoughtful since that moment, so maybe there is something we do not know.
3 TYRION AND DAENERYS ARE SIBLINGS
This theory is in some way similar to the one about the relative between Daenerys and Jon; it is called “A+J=T” and include another possible Targaryen: Tyrion. This could be happened thanks to the union between Joanna Lannister (Tyrion’s mother) and the Mad King (Aerys Targaryen). This theory is supported by two facts. First of all, the two possible parents should have been together in the period in which Tyrion was born, when Joanna visited King’s Landing to celebrate Aery’s tenth year on the Iron Throne. Then, we should remember Tywin Lannister’s last words to Tyrion: “You are no son of mine”. Moreover, Tyrion is one of the few characters accepted by the dragons, and this could be another element supporting the presence of Targaryen blood inside him. It would be wonderful if Daenerys, Jon and Tyrion were the three Dragon Riders required to claim the throne.
4 BRAN IS THE THREE EYED RAVEN FROM THE FUTURE
This theory also comprehends the fact that Bran is not only having visions, but he can also travel in time. In fact, the young Ned Stark seemed to look as if he heard Bran calling him in season six. This theory could create many doubts about what can be caused by Bran himself, but it is a very controversial and delicate argument. Let’s just say that Bran can definitely be the Three Eyed Raven from the future. This can be the reason why the Three Eyed Raven cannot move from the tree, knew that Bran would come and guided him. Of course this is a crazy theory, but it could be pretty fun.
5 SANSA IS PREGNANT WITH RAMSAY’S KID
This theory started with the discussion between Sansa and Littlefinger, in which she is mad about him allowing her to marry Ramsay. Her words were: “I can still feel it. I don’t mean in my tender heart, it still pains me so. I can still feel what he did in my body standing here right now.” Apparently she was referring to the emotional and physical pain, but she could also being talking about a literal baby inside her. There were also other elements that could support this theory, as Jon commenting her too large coat and Sansa refusing eating the food offered by the Night’s Watch. There is also a good reason that could explain why we don’t know about this baby: of course Sansa would have done anything possible to hide it to Ramsay. This would be a horrible turn of events, but a classical GoT fact.
6 BRAN IS THE LORD OF LIGHT
Another theory about Bran is that he could be the famous Lord of Light. This is a theory based on the fact that Bran can really travel back in time. Doing that, he could have tried to build an army of fire bearers to beat the White Walkers, making this become a real religion. In fact, the Lord of Light, as we know, is looking for the prince that was promised to defeat the White Walkers and the candidate now is Jon Snow (again, as we know). The fact that Bran is Jon’s step brother could make possible that he picked him as the chosen one.
7 JON WILL KILL DAENERYS
“A Song of Ice and Fire” is now clear as a premonition of a meeting between the Ice, Jon, and the Fire, Daenerys. The problem is that we still don’t know if they will fight together or against each other, but this theory is about Jon forced to kill Daenerys. It could be when Daenerys, arrived to Westeros, will go insane (as the Mad King) and destroy the Seven Kingdoms with the three dragons. This theory about Jon killing Daenerys can be explained by many elements. First of all, there is the Ice and Fire premonition I mentioned before; then, there is Jon’s actual role; at least, there is the possibility (that I mentioned few points before) that Jon is a Targaryen, which can bring him to control Daenerys’s dragons.
8 LADY STONEHEART WILL ARRIVE SOON
Those who have read the books, know that Catelyn Stark didn’t remain dead for long time after she died, because she was resurrected by Beric Dondarion, becoming Lady Stoneheart. This new Lady started revenging, by killing anyone connected with the Red Wedding. Nobody really knows if the character will really appear in the show, but everyone desire it. Moreover, Jon’s resurrection could be considered as a precursor to Catelyn’s one. Let’s hope so.
